ATZ Friendly Tournament 14 January 2023

ESDA members, Sally J'arlette-joy, Maryna Badenhorst, Moira Cronje, Delian Bennett, Pie Badenhorst, Jan Putter, Wayne Ellis, Chipoyera Tinashe, Hugo Deysel, Brad Blume and Alfred Ungerer represented well at the ATZ Friendly Tournament held Saturday at Dinwiddie Sports Club.

It was an extremely hot and gruelling day, however it was a day filled with connecting with our dart friends from throughout Gauteng, some great darting moments and there was fun had by all present. We may not all placed where we wanted to but being our first representation for 2023, this it but a small taste of things to come!

The day started off with the Singles Cup, followed up by the Plate Section giving the players that fell out in the first round of the knockout the opportunity to play on. These were the results for the Singles Cup and Plate Sections:

Delian fell out in both first rounds of the Cup and Plate Section. Sally fell out in the 1st round of the Cup but reaching the Semi Finals of the Plate Section. Maryna reached Top 8 in the Cup Section and Moira reached the Semi Finals of the Cup.

Pie fell out in the second round of the Cup Section, Jan fell out in the both the first round of the Cup and Plate Section, Wayne fell out the firts round of the Cup Section and fell out after the second round in the Plate Section, Alf reached Top 32 in the Cup Section, Hugo reached Top 16 in the Cup Section, Tinashe reached the Top 8 in the Cup Section and with Brad having fallen out in the first round of the Cup, he went on to play in the Semi Finals of the Plate Section.

In the selected doubles section, ESDA members placed as follows:

Sally and her partner fell out first round, Delian and Maryna fell out Top 16, Moira and her partner went on to play in the Semi Finals but unfortunately that is where the journey ended.

Pie and his partner fell out during the first round, Alf and his partner fell out in the second round, Wayne and his partner fell out during the second round. Brad and his partner managed to reach Top 16, Tinashe and his partner reaching Top 8, Jan and his partner reached the Semi Finals but unfortunately their journey ended there. Hugo and his partner also unfortunately lost in the Semi Finals.

Thank you to everyone who attended and congratulations to everyone for your individual placements. It is not exactly what we intended, however, there are plenty more upcoming events where the Blue Machine Family will rise and show exactly what we are made of.
